I read that letter from Dr. Alpart (I live in your neck of the woods), and all I can say to you is Amen! I'm so glad you wrote that letter to the editor.  I couldn't have said it better myself. This not a letter that I wrote - sorry - I should've posted that it is a re-post of the one she (Jennifer) posted.

That is an excellent letter although I didn't see the original letter by the Doc.

Again...this is my opinion....the medical comminity is running behind a train that has already left.  They had some time to catch up.  Some did, but many didn't.  The train is going really fast now.............

BRAVO!! Medical field self-indulgent regarding autism
First published: Thursday, October 18, 2007 I find it interesting that Dr. Andrew Alpart (letter, Oct. 10) would find Suzy Cohen's last column regarding autism and gluten sensitivity "self-indulgent." What I find self-indulgent is the need for many in the medical industry to come down so decisively against any difference in opinion when discussing the autism epidemic, whether it be the cause, diagnosis, treatment, therapies, etc.
